Glen Ellen Gathering Space is honored to welcome JALEH (Lauren Bjelde) as its inaugural Artist-in-Residence. Widely known as the magnetic lead singer of Royal Jelly Jive, Jaleh brings a deeply multidimensional artistic practice to GEGS — one that moves fluidly between music, sound healing, shamanic work, intuitive teaching, and visual art.
Anchored at GEGS for the development of her new body of work, Jaleh is launching offerings under her Cosmic Sonics project, where sound becomes a gateway into expanded states of emotion, intuition, and consciousness.
Her residency will include:
Jaleh’s presence expands the Sound Sanctuary into a living, breathing ecosystem of artistry, frequency, and transformation — a space where community members can explore the full spectrum of sound as medicine, expression, and awakening.
With her sultry voice and intoxicating stage persona, Jaleh creates music that is as bewitching as the artist herself. She’s an old soul who casts spells of love and healing to all that see her perform. She is currently working on a new album of medicine music inspired by the Earth and the expansive liberation achieved through sacred ceremony, plant medicines, sound therapy and yogic breathwork.
Inspired by 1960's psychedelic soul, blues, jazz and pop, her musical influences are as eclectic as her style. After rocketing onto the San Francisco music scene with her band Royal Jelly Jive, she quickly found herself hitting career highlights such as playing Bottlerock, Outside Lands, The Fillmore, as well as opening for The Roots, Michael Franti, Thievery Corporation, the Avett Brothers and Lake Street Dive.
